Hydroseeding is another method of turfing, more commonly used in major projects in the country replacing the conventional method of extracting-and-laying of turf on proposed areas.
It allows us to use required grass species to turf at proposed areas such as Signal Grass species for slope protection, hence giving the areas almost weed free if the soil is free from seed contamination.
Hydroseeded grass on river banks to prevent erosion of soil and other contamination into the river. Thus, it also provides a natural aesthetics.
Hydroseeding is encouraged on slopes as a form of protection against soil erosion especially during heavy raining season.
Hydroseeding is commonly used in the development sectors on construction site, road works, where earth works are usually carried out for soil stabilisation.
Due to the ease and effectiveness of carrying out the task at a shorter time period in comparison to conventional turfing, hydroseeding as a practical solution is easily applicable in various environmental needs be it in construction or estate, slopes or plain field.
